WeWork Headed To Oakland

WeWork will soon open its first Oakland location. The co-working company will move into 1111 Broadway, its 13th site in the Bay Area and its first in Oakland, the San Francisco Business Times reports. WeWork leased 75K SF spanning four floors that can accommodate 1,000 people. The lease is one of the largest in the East Bay so far this year. The Oakland location is expected to open late 2017.

WeWork also will add a location in Jackson Square and 650 California this year and is in talks for space at Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.

The building is owned by the University of California, which bought the property in 2014 for $215M. Cushman & Wakefield repped the landlord.
