SAS Automotive Systems Rolls Into Newark

The San Francisco Bay Area is speeding into the auto manufacturing scene. SAS Automotive Systems just pre-leased Overton Moore Properties’ entire 142,188 SF Eureka Landing in Newark. The new facility is Germany-based SAS’s first West Coast outpost. It also has offices in Michigan.

The high-image advanced manufacturing project will be completed this month and SAS plans to move in during January once tenant improvements are finished.

Newmark Cornish & Carey executive managing director Steve Kapp says SAS is the first firm from core automotive to establish a presence in the East Bay. Steve along with Newmark Cornish & Carey managing director Mike Spiro and associate director Curtis Stahle repped SAS.

OMP Eureka Landing at 39888 Eureka Drive is near I-880 and less than five miles from Tesla’s Fremont plant. Tesla will also be expanding its presence with another 4.6M SF of industrial in Fremont. OMP Eureka is part of the 1.1M SF Stevenson Point Tech Park populated by high-tech companies such as Apple, Unigen Corp, SMART Modular Technologies and Triple Ring Technologies.

The building has 10k SF of office, 16 dock-high doors, two oversized grade-level doors, 32-foot clear height, ESFR sprinkler systems, and 4,000 amps of 480-volt power. It also offers security and privacy. The LEED-compliant project offers sustainable landscaping and skylights arranged to allow for solar power installation as well.
