Dr. Dre Day in Dogpatch

San Francisco

Dogpatch is amping up its street cred with the expansion of Beats Music, a new music streaming service under the umbrella of the LA-based Beats Electronics headphones company.

Beats Electronics was started by the rapper and Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine. CM Commercial's Bob Tasker (above) and Jack Doherty reps the Beats Music unit, which took half the building at 555 19th last May as its kickoff space. Like so many other tech companies, it grew faster than expected and took the other half—over 12k SF more—at the end of 2013. TIs are underway and the space will be ready for move-in by March.

The parent audio company has a slew of celeb endorsers and is always a popular booth at CES, which kicks off this week in Vegas. Beats Music is expanding at the speed of sound, and CM helped measure that growth via a project management service that forecasts how much space companies will need. The 100 employees that work in the building can expand up to 190 once the other half is ready for occupancy. The three-story brick and timber building also features great skylights.
