New financial backers kicked off the latest chapter of the Raiders’ saga to build a new stadium. Fortress Investment Group, which has advocated to keep the Raiders in Oakland, has been acquired by Japanese-based SoftBank for $3.3B. The sale is not expected to change anything related to the Raiders stadium deal in Oakland, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The team also reported it had new banks willing to loan money for a Las Vegas stadium weeks after Sheldon Adelson and Goldman Sachs backed out of the dealaccording to the San Francisco Business Times.

Raiders owner Mark Davis filed his request to relocate to Las Vegas in January. Nevada previously approved $750M in public funds to go toward a $1.9B stadium. The NFL will consider the vote to move this month.
