San Francisco's Planning Commission has approved the proposed Affordable Housing Bonus Program, sending it on to the city's Board of Supervisors.

The commission voted 4-2 in favor of the program (we hit the program highlights last week, and the planning department has even more info). Certain projects that incorporate more affordable housing will be able to build higher and denser under the program, which would bring much-needed housing to the city, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Last week marked the fifth planning commission hearing for the program. It will move next to the Board of Supervisors' Land Use and Transportation Committee before it can go before the full board. [SFE]
