New Retail and Dining Destination Planned for Reston

JBG is looking to bring a new Reston Town Center-type development to a location near the future Reston Parkway Metro Station, reports Reston Now. RTC West (above) will be on a 13-acre site at Sunset Hills Road and Reston Parkway, currently home to three office buildings. JBG plans to convert the first two floors of the buildings (15k SF) to retail and restaurant space, and add 25k SF, creating a 40k SF pedestrian-friendly retail destination. JBG will also leave 90k SF of open space, and add new trees and 1,538 parking spaces to the existing 1,600. Other conditions include creating a new turning lane on Reston Parkway and making improvements for pedestrians.
