Italian Fast-Casual Concept Comes to Silver Spring and Bethesda

Think of it as an Italian Chipotle, with Italian burritos, pasta bowls, meatballs and salad bowls. It's Gusto Italian Grill, and it's coming to Silver Spring this August. The fast-casual restaurant will occupy 3.5k SF at 8512 Fenton St. across from Whole Foods. Another location at 4733 Elm St., the site of the former Kraze Burger in Bethesda, will open in mid-June. Gusto hopes to open 30 or 40 locations in the DC area. Inside, the restaurant will have a large Tavola—a communal table—along with features like Venetian-textured gray and white walls, stained concrete floors, industrial metals, limestone tiles, beams and weathered wood accented by splashes of burnt red, leather and handblown glass (sounds almost good enough to eat).
