Cava Grill Raises $16M, Plans LA Expansion

Cava Grill has some big expansion plans after raising $16M in a round led by SWaN and Legend Venture Partners. The Cava Mezze spinoff has opened 11 locations in the DC area since 2011. And now it's planning to take it out west to LA, as well as to continue growth locally. The first two LA locations will be in Westwood Village near UCLA, and in the Village at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park, the Washington Business Journal reports. At the same time, the company is looking to sell its dips and spreads wholesale along the West Coast. [WBJ]
