WeWork's new Crystal City location is set to open early this November, the company announced via email.
The co-working developer and Vornado/Charles E. Smith converted two floors of the vacant Crystal Plaza 6 into office space, and will eventually put 216 micro-apartments on the upper floors.
No word yet on when the residential WeLive component will open, but according to the floor plan, it will include mostly 300 SF to 315 SF studios. The units will be clustered together in "neighborhoods," which will have large communal areas, commercial grade kitchens and dining areas.
WeWork and WeLive are temporary uses for the building, which is expected to be demolished in the next 20 years or so, as part of a larger development plan. [UT]
