Ron Paul on EagleBank's Latest Buy

Moments ago, we caught up with EagleBank CEO Ron Paul (whom we snapped earlier this year flanked by general counsel Larry Bensignor and president Tom Murphy), who tells us the firm's just announced $189.2M acquisition of Virginia Heritage Bank boiled down to not only growing in Northern Virginia, but also to the two firms sharing a similar culture. Virginia Heritage's real estate loan portfolio resembles his own firm's, Ron says, and the acquisition (which should close by the end of the year) will enhance EagleBank's real estate focus. No other acquisitions are on the table now, Ron says, though the firm will continue to be opportunistic.
