So where would you expect us to find the glamorous LA real estate crowd at dinner this weekend but restaurants like West Hollywood's Madeo (often staked out by TMZ)? We were there with Newmark LA retail king Jay Luchs (son of DC real estate vet Ken Luchs), right, and ran into Simon Mani (one half of the famed Mani Brothers, with buildings like 9000 and 9200 Sunset, 801 S Figueroa, and 1401 Ocean). Simon's also known for earlier this year buying the Malibu Beach Inn from David Geffen for $1.7M a room, the highest per key hotel price in California history. About the same as our meal cost.
