Gensler, one of the top architecture firms in the D.C. region, will soon have entirely new local leadership for the first time in 15 years.
Theresa Sheils and Francisco Gonzalez, both principals at the firm, will take over as co-managers in January, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Sheils has spent more than 20 years designing commercial real estate projects for Gensler. Gonzalez joined the firm six years ago, but has also been in the design industry for over two decades.
The firm's current co-managers, Lisa Amster and Jordan Goldstein, will move in different directions. Amster plans to retire at the end of the year, while Goldstein will stay with Gensler and continue his role overseeing the Southeast region.
Gensler's current work in D.C. includes major projects such as Marriott's new Downtown Bethesda HQ and a proposal to build the region's tallest tower in Tysons.
