At CREW DC's monthly luncheon last week at Hotel Monaco, charter school development was the hot topic. A panel of Building Hope's Joe Bruno, Hickok Cole's Yolanda Cole, MCN Build's Rudy Seikaly, CREW DC prez Betsy Karmin of DLA Piper, and Studley's Bill Quinby held a wide-ranging discussion on everything from tax-credit financing to location issues. The panel reported that incorporating charter schools into mixed-use developments remains an emerging trend. (School nap time would be so much better in a 2 BR/2 BA apartment.)
