Ormidale Block Redevelopment Wins Brownfield Award

Century Group's Ormidale Block, a commercial building at 151 West Hastings St undergoing a substantial redevelopment, was a winner at the Canadian Urban Institute’s 2015 Brownie Awards last week. The Romanesque Revival-style building, with a richly detailed terrace cotta and brick facade, is in the midst of a revamp that will retain its historic facades and add a brand-new building behind, 35k of office and retail space in all. The building will have a green rooftop patio, bike racks, showers, lockers and electric bike plug-ins. Completion's slated for spring 2016.
