MEC Commits To Using 100% Green Energy At All Buildings

Mountain Equipment Co-op and green energy provider Bullfrog Power have expanded their partnership, with the outdoor retailer committing to using 100% green electricity and natural gas at its 17 stores nationwide (MEC's new North York location is rendered above) and all future facilities. Bullfrog’s generators will put 100% clean energy onto the grid to match the amount of conventional power that MEC’s stores, warehouse and offices use. MEC retail operations officer Gary Faryon noted that emissions associated with powering and heating its buildings represent a “large slice” of MEC's overall carbon footprint.
