City Office REIT is on a Florida buying spree. The Vancouver-based trust acquired Carillon Point in St. Petersburg (above) for $26.3M and said today it has a deal to purchase Orlando’s Research Park Collection for $49.8M. Carillon Point (124k SF) is 100% leased. The Research Park Collection includes five buildings (272k SF, 93% leased) and a 10-acre land parcel in the country's fourth-largest research park. Three of the buildings are the only privately owned properties within the Force Protection Zone for the PEO-STRI military facility, a key anchor for Orlando's high-tech simulation and defense industries.
