Whistler Blackcomb Holdings is being sold to Colorado-based Vail Resorts in a deal worth nearly $1.4B that marks the first venture north of the border for Vail. Whistler Blackcomb CEO David Brownie, who will join Vail’s leadership team and stay on as the resort’s COO, said the relationship will bring greater resources to support his group’s ambitious growth plans, including the Renaissance project, a transformational $345M investment aimed at diversifying the resort's offerings away from skiiing and snowboarding with new four-season, weather-independent activities, including an indoor water park.
