The 1.4M SF former One AT&T Center at 909 Chestnut St. in Downtown St. Louis, which has no office tenants, is now on the market. NAI Global said recently that the building was available, though the company did not reveal an asking price, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The property, which was designed by HOK, dates from 1986. It occupies an entire city block and is St. Louis' largest office building in square feet, but not height. Metropolitan Square building at 211 North Broadway is taller.

Back when the building was developed, it was fully occupied by the HQ of Southwestern Bell Corp.

That company eventually morphed into SBC Communications and moved to San Antonio. After a merger with AT&T in the mid-2000s, the company became known by that name, hence the building name.

In September, about 2,000 AT&T employees were moved out of the 909 Chestnut building. That left the building unoccupied except for retail on the ground floor.

More recently, U.S. Bank National Association Trustee sued the owner, InvenTrust Properties Corp., and had the building put into receivership.
