Skanska Plans Massive Office Downtown, Maybe All Spec

Skanska USA Commercial Development unveiled plans for a 700k SF office building in Downtown Seattle at the corner of 2nd Street and University. The project, called 2 and U, will also include about 20k SF of ground-floor retail.

2 and U may start as a full spec project, or have some pre-leasing before construction begins sometime next year, The Registry reports, citing Skanska EVP Lisa Picard.

The developer will be funding construction with its own equity, which allows for flexibility in the design, she adds. [TR]
