EDC's New Year

We were on hand late last week for the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County's annual meeting at its offices on 5th Ave. Among enthusiastic supporters we snapped: GSA regional administrator George Northcroft, Seattle Community Colleges chancellor Jill Wakefield, and McKinstry EVP David Allen, who chairs the EDC board.

Eighty leaders of prominent local public and private organizations heard an upbeat report on jobs created in the community (the EDC's chief mission), and on new initiatives, like plans to lure companies here from California and new business development work in the aerospace sector. Above, outgoing CEO Jeff Marcell and interim CEO Suzanne Dale Estey, who've worked together closely during Jeff’s 10-year tour. He leaves to lead a consulting practice with TIP Strategies later this month.
