Valerio Dewalt Train Associates (VDTA) just promoted William Turner to principal, so we asked him for a recap of some of their current projects. The firm is continuing to update the building interiors for Ebay and is looking at the next generation of workplace strategy for Ebay locations in North and South America. Palo Alto-based VMware is also a client, and they just wrapped up new interiors for two projects in North America. In addition, VDTA is continuing to work with Adobe at their San Francisco office (pictured).

The amenities “arms race” is alive and well, as tech companies compete for the same limited pool of talent. VDTA is taking the dining experience to the next level to further enhance the quality and variety of food. The market is moving away from what he calls the "buffeteria," or buffet and cafeteria. Instead, it’s better to develop a highly themed food experience that creates an evocative environment. When employees go grab lunch, Turner wants to make them feel they are escaping the workplace during their 45 minutes away from their desk.
