Savills Studley Secures Space For Agri-Tech Company

AEssense, which has a presence in China as well as the United States, was previously spread across two offices in Silicon Valley: 1400 Terra Bella Ave in Mountain View and 1220 Alderwood Drive in Sunnyvale. The company chose 1281 Reamwood Drive to consolidate its business headquarters and R&D center into one Silicon Valley property.

AEssense president and CEO Robert I. Chen cites a tripling of the company’s size as the primary motivation behind the search for new space. “The expanded space provides us with capacity for increased customer support, engineering, equipment testing, sales and services and office space to support our continued growth,” he says.

Savills Studley corporate managing director Scott Kinder (above) advised AEssense on the lease. "With all of the recent redevelopment and trending for higher density in Sunnyvale, the supply of first-class, single-story office-R&D facilities has diminished, making properties like Reamwood harder to come by in today’s market," he tells Bisnow. Scott says the landlord, WTA Reamwood, contributed a “generous” TI package to complete the build-out.

Scott has a 30-year relationship with AEssense’s management and completed two previous transactions for the company.

WTA Reamwood was repped by Cushman & Wakefield’s Greg Davies, Steve Horton, Alan Guterman and Kelly Yoder.
