Google has revealed its plans for its latest development in Mountain View’s North Bayshore. The 595k SF office project Google Charleston East will be Google’s first ground-up development, the San Francisco Business Times reports. The two-story building is topped with a canopy-like roof propped up with tall beams. The site will include walking trails, a park and plaza, and retail.
The 18.6-acre project was part of Google’s land swap with LinkedIn in 2016 that allowed Google to expand its presence in Mountain View. Google paid $215.2M to LinkedIn for the land. LinkedIn received land in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, which will allow it to build a corporate campus earlier than expected.
The plans will be considered by Mountain View during a tentatively scheduled public hearing on March 7.
