East Bay Continues To Lure Healthcare Companies

Bisnow was the first to report on Brown & Toland, a physicians group currently based at 153 Townsend near AT&T Park, taking 60k SF across three floors inside Westcore's 1221 Broadway, aka the Clorox Building. Now, with price pressure building in the biotech and high-tech markets, the Peninsula is purging, and  the state's stem cell research funding agency will move to Oakland. Companies are looking more at East Bay cities, from Emeryville south to Fremont. Wareham Development, for one, is finishing up work on 100k SF in West Berkeley and has had "lots of discussions" with prospective biotech tenants. [SFBT]
