As part of an effort to inject more life into San José's public spaces, including City Hall Plaza, locals shared what they love about their town. The city, Gehl Studio and The Tech Museum of Innovation hosted an open workshop called "A Love Letter to San José." Participants shared their favorite places in the city and had a workshop for how to make downtown's public spaces more inviting, more active and better-suited to the needs of locals. After the workshop, participants watched "The Human Scale" (above), a documentary that explores and frames some key issues facing citizens and city builders and what happens when we put people at the center of planning.
