Sares Regis Plans Transit Apartments in San Mateo

Sares Regis Group of Northern California was picked to potentially develop a 2.7-acre site at the doorstep of the Hayward Park Caltrain Station in San Mateo. The site’s owner, the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (PCJPB), which runs Caltrain, selected Sares Regis as the developer through an RFP process. The site is currently a parking lot serving the Hayward station. What's proposed: 100-150 apartments. If negotiations are successful, the parties will enter into a ground lease, and the development application would be processed through the San Mateo city planning department.
