CBRE Global Investors Buys Fremont Industrial Property

A CBRE Global Investors fund acquired a Class-A R&D and manufacturing property in Fremont.

The property, with two buildings totaling nearly 200k SF, is fully leased to SolarCity, a solar panel manufacturer. The buildings are at 47700 Kato Rd and 1055 Page Ave right off of the I-880, which connects Silicon Valley to Oakland.

Both buildings were recently upgraded to meet the custom R&D and manufacturing needs of SolarCity, with the company paying for the majority of the upgrades.

CBRE Global Investors has focused on industrial properties in the Oakland area, and the I-880 corridor is one of the strongest and most active submarkets in the area, says portfolio manager Kim Hourihan.
