ULTIMATE GREEN MACHINE

Just in time for Earth Day, BMW and MINI of Manhattan are goin’ green. Parent company BMW North America is upgrading spaces in each dealership along with its US intro of the ActiveE full-electric vehicle and the return of its clean four-cylinder BMW engines.
BMW of Manhattan will remain in 228k SF at SL Green’s 555 W 57th St, its home since ‘98. And it will also be creating a 69k SFstandalone MINI dealership and BMW certified pre-owned sales center at the Chapman Building (Eleventh and 56th). Construction of the MINI dealership is expected by year's end, and the BMW dealership, next year. Both will be LEED certified and have: louverson the building exterior to reduce heat loads and maximize daylight;solar panels on the roof of the MINI dealership; high-efficiency lighting and mechanical systems; and regionally sourced materials. And if you need a little juice, both dealerships will have electric vehicle charging stations. The sustainable retrofit team: Bovis Lend Lease, HLW International, and Hunter Roberts Construction Group.
