Tech Companies Dominate Best Places To Work List

The best bet for a top-notch work environment is a job with a tech company, according to Glassdoor's annual list of top employers.

Tech companies dominated the 50 best companies, making up about half of Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards list, now in its eighth year.

Among them were Airbnb, which ranked at the very top as both best tech company and best overall company (it wasn't even on the list last year). Facebook ranked fifth; and Google ranked eighth (both were No. 1 in previous years).

Of the 50 companies listed, there were 21 tech companies, many with big salaries and perks that included on-site, made-to-order meals and travel coupons (Airbnb); ATMs, bike repair, car washes, mobile haircuts and holiday fairs (Google); and three meals a day, five days a week (Facebook), according to the San Francisco Business Times.

The list is created based on employee feedback from Glassdoor's anonymous survey of job, work environment and company. [SFBT]
