Form4 Architecture just received the 2017 American Prize for Architecture from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The new American Prize for Architecture laureates include Form4 Architecture principals Robert J. Giannini, John Marx, Paul Ferro and James Tefend.

The firm has designed tech offices, museums, mixed-use developments, educational institutions, memorials and places of worship in Northern California, India, Korea, Taiwan and Ireland. It has had a particular focus on Silicon Valley tech companies such as Netflix, Citrix, VM Ware, Google and Facebook.

“Form4 Architecture’s design philosophy conveys a ‘vision of the future’ and all the artistic possibilities of imagination, emotional meaning and lyrical expressionism for a consequentially better and more enlightened world around us,” Chicago Athenaeum president Christian Narkiewicz-Laine said.

The Chicago Athenaeum also awarded a 2017 American Architecture Award to Sea Song, a self-sustaining, net-zero energy LEED Platinum single-family residence in Big Sur, Calif. The firm’s Curve Technology Park received a 2016 Good Green Design Award. The project broke ground at Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto last year and is expected to be completed in 2017.
