Pool Party at UC Berkeley

ELS designed the AIA award-winning Recreational Sports Facility at UC Berkeley in the 1980s. Thirty years later, the same firm is designing the next swimming facility for the campus across the way (rendered above). Along with the Edwards Fields and Stadium across the street, they are creating an athletics precinct in the southwest corner of the campus. The new building references both the historic Edwards Field and the more recent RSF complex. The project is targeted for completion in 2015. (Just enough time to try and squeeze into your bathing suit.)
