ALS Celebrates Donors

Last night at GitHub's HQ, the staff and committee behind the Napa Valley Ride to Defeat ALS thanked 2014 donors. Bonnie Pybus was in the top 10, raising more than $10k. She left her longtime post at Boston Properties over a year ago, but she tells us she's back on a temp basis for a couple of weeks while a new property manager is hired for half of Embarcadero Center (she used to be PM of the other two towers). Here she's joined by RN Field's John Grcina and VMware's Tamera Scholz.

John tells us his firm just started construction this week at Dirty Water, the new hip watering hole coming to Twitter's HQ at Market Square. His firm set up some Go Pro cameras to capture the process. He'll have even more on his plate, having just been named ALS committee co-chair last night. Last year the ride had 1,200 participants, and many are in Bay Area real estate. Registration opens next month for the Sept 26 ride.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge put the disease on the map and blew past expectations last year, causing an Internet sensation with millions of YouTube views and some $115M raised. Here is Bisnow's Mike Martinez and John taking part in the challenge.
