The Samaritan Medical Center is planning to build an additional 475,250 SF of office space on its San Jose campus. Samaritan split the 13-acre site in two: a four-acre site at 2506 Samaritan Court, which will have two three-story medical office buildings totaling 115,250 SF, with parking garages; and a nine-acre development at 2577 Samaritan Dr that will have three six-story buildings, offering 360k SF of commercial and medical space, and a seven-story parking garage. The buildings will replace a one-story office building on Samaritan Court and 13 medical office buildings on Samaritan Drive. Samaritan is also looking to amend zoning on a portion of the site to allow for higher building heights. This is part of a 20-year master plan that Samaritan is proposing to replace aging buildings with larger state-of-the-art facilities. Pending an environmental review and public hearings, construction is scheduled to begin in spring or summer 2016. [TR]
