JLL's Matts Have Big App Plans

We just met with JLL's new managing directors Matt Shewey and Matt Griffin, who brought over 12 listings from Cushman. One Montgomery is the largest, which has had quite the success story under their watch. In 2010, Charles Schwab dominated as a 370k SF tenant and was downsizing big time. The duo went after a diverse tenant mix to fill it, which now includes tech, law, engineering, publishing and financial services. Partners since 2007, the Matts just built an app they will be rolling out in Q1 2015. Time kills deals, they explain, and the app is designed to give clients real-time updates on the market. They think institutional landlord clients ("the active buyer pool") in S.F. will like it. A perfect scenario for flipping open the app: An owner sitting in an investment committee meeting trying to make a decision on why and how to buy. ("They've got everything they need at their fingertips.")
