Construction at Roseville’s 82k SF City Hall Annex building is on track in part due to the use of precast concrete. The four-story development will house several municipal services and provide space for Sierra College.
The project at 316 Vernon St originally was designed as a steel structure with a plaster finish. DPR Construction decided instead to use Clark Pacific's precast concrete panels to create less neighborhood disruption. Clark Pacific cast 538 panels to make up the structure’s “columns, beams, walls and floor system” in 10 weeks off-site and assembled the structure in 39 days.
City officials praised the construction process. “We’re amazed at the speed in which this project is coming together,” said Roseville development services manager Mike Isom.
