Apple has made a big move in San Jose for the first time in years, gobbling up the nearly 300k SF 101 Tech Campus. No details are out quite yet on what the tech giant will do with the space, but this comes amid a flurry of recent struggles for the company on the office space front.
The property at 2325 Orchard Pkwy was picked up by Ellis Partners in 2011 and began an extensive renovation, creating a sleek campus Apple would be interested in. The property once was the HQ of semiconductor manufacturer Atmel Corp, reports the San Francisco Business Times. This comes as Apple has had some office setbacks in recent months, including switching out contractors for its "Spaceship" HQ and its ongoing fight to get more space approved in Mountain View.
