Yesterday, Midmarket got not one but seven new food and drink options. The much-anticipated The Hall at 1028 Market swung open its doors to a packed (and hungry) house once Mayor Ed Lee snipped the ribbon. Scott Peterson of Fine & Rare is part of the team behind The Hall, which breathed new life into the longtime shuttered Hollywood Billiards site. The curated collection of local food purveyors offers options from ribs to wine to gumbo. (Alchohol will be flowing all day, we learned.) The Hall, which will cater to a lunchtime and happy hour crowd, will also be used for events.

Above, San Francisco Office of Economic & Workforce Development director Todd Rufo hangs out at the coffee bar. Other options include The Whole Beast, Anchor Brewers and Distillers, Raj + Singh, Cassia and Little Green Cyclo. War Horse and Tidewater Capital conceived the concept with support and input from Scott, Ted Wilson and Matt Semmelhack (AQ, TBD, Bon Marché). The Hall won't be around forever, however; it's a placeholder while the developer entitles a housing project for the site. (Eat now, cause future residents probably won't let you come in and eat their food.)
