Dermody Properties just nabbed the 130k SF industrial facility at 31033-31055 Huntwood Ave in Hayward from a private investor. The Reno-based owner-operator will renovate the renamed LogistiCenterSM and lease it June 2017. The building is at 20% occupancy with Wohler Technologies as a tenant.

Dermody Properties West Region partner George Condon says the East Bay is key to the firm’s nationwide expansion.

The acquisition is a unique find. Newmark Cornish & Carey executive managing director Steve Kapp, who handled the sale along with associate director Curtis Stahle, says there are only four properties of comparable size along the I-880 corridor from San Leandro to Fremont. Steve and Curtis will market LogistiCenterSM at lease.

The property has large floor plates, dock and grade-level loading and a showroom, and is well-suited for advanced manufacturing companies with heavy power requirements, warehouse operations, and showroom or wholesale retailers.
