Like how Sochi looks right now? You can thank Emily Dufner, who did some of the Olympics' park lighting and just joined Arup's S.F. office as--what else?--a pro lighting designer. Let's all welcome her back to the states; she spent 13 years in Europe and just transferred from Arup’s office in Berlin. She deserves a gold medal for some of her work, which also includes the Beijing National Stadium and the London 2012 Olympics Athletes Village. Locally, she lit up the California Academy of Sciences.
