OPEN HOUSE

Among the 250 that showed up Thursday to check out Cushman & Wakefield of Texas’s cushy new digs on the 9th floor in Rosewood Court was the building’s developer, Caroline Rose Hunt and C&W executive directors Greg BiggsRandy Cooper, and Rick Hughes(dubbed The Power Team in Big D for office tenant rep by colleagues). Back in April, C&W inked its 10-year lease, including signage facing Cedar Springs Road, and moved in Aug. 1.
Unlike your kid’s school open house with crayon-laden artwork, C&W’s featured works like Spirit - The Heroes Horse of Hope(being admired by C&W's Grant Pruitt, NEC Corporation of America’s Carter Holston, and C&W executive director Mike Wyatt.) The sculpture was commissioned by Mike   to honor the heroes of 9/11. In the US flags on the statue are the headlines of that day. Spirit also traveled to New York to stand in the lobby of the C&W office closest to Ground Zero and to several clients’ offices. Spirit’s home is part of C&W’s Spirit of Texas employee lounge; all of the firm’s conference rooms are all named for Texan heroes like William Travis, James Bowie, and Davy Crockett. (No Cliff Lee?) The meeting rooms are named for Texas towns like Luckenbach, Cut and Shoot, Muleshoe, Canton, and Terlinqua, as well as swanky Dallas hotels like Melrose, Mansion, Crescent, and Adolphus.

Billingsley Co's George Billingsley spots the camera, alongside C&W senior director Mart Martindale, EVP Liz Trocchio, and Billingsley Co. founder Lucy Billingsley. C&W’s capital markets group recently sold the 45k SF  Cross Pointe Center in Saginaw led by Stephannie Mower, with Brandon BeesonTom Salanty and Will Walters. The property was sold out of receivership to Dallas-based Centennial Real Estate for an undisclosed cost. Cross Pointe Center is 82.3% occupied with tenants including Hibbett Sports, Dollar Tree, RadioShack, and CATO Fashions.
