New Upscale Hotel Coming To Downtown Portland

A Portland-based specialist in boutique hotels, Provenance Hotels, unveiled plans to open the upscale Dossier hotel in Downtown Portland this summer. The 205-room property, currently the Westin Portland at SW Park Avenue and SW Alder Street, will be redesigned under the direction of Provenance’s in-house director of design, Ashley Stempler.

Dossier will join Provenance Hotels’ Portland holdings, which include the Sentinel, Hotel Lucia and Hotel deLuxe. Like all Provenance Hotels, the new property features an art collection. Guest rooms will feature images by the late Slim Aarons, a photographer who documented the lives of mid-20th century celebrities and the jet set.

The hotel will also offer "spiritual menus," which require guests to call room service to order their religious book of choice, rather than simply offering a Gideons Bible in each room. Dossier will include 2,060 SF of second-floor meeting and event space with windows overlooking the city. The hotel’s restaurant and bar concepts will be announced later.
