Irvine-based C.W. Driver Cos. has completed construction on a $78M student housing development in San Bernardino.
The Coyote Village and Coyote Commons is a 107,260 SF student housing and dining hall at California State University, San Bernardino at 5500 University Parkway. The school held a grand opening last month.

Coyote Village is a 407-bed student housing complex for first-year students and features an administrative suite, a game room, multipurpose rooms, student lounges, laundry, a community kitchen and a faculty residence program, C.W. Driver officials said in a news release.
Coyote Commons is a 45,358 SF dining facility that can seat up to 700 people. It features full-service and self-serve stations and three dining rooms. There is also an adjacent 200-seat mezzanine that offers views of the San Bernardino mountains to the north.
“As a longstanding builder of higher education projects, we are proud to provide state-of-the-art dining and living spaces that will support Cal State San Bernardino’s continued growth for years to come," C.W. Driver Project Executive David Amundson said in a news release.
The student housing project is part of the school's Campus Master Plan designed to foster academic success and growth.
Coyote Village is one of the 95 student housing projects nationwide that is expected to open this year and highlights the growth of this once-niche industry. With university and community college enrollment expected to increase, investors have been pouring money into developing student housing to meet the demand.
Cal State San Bernardino spent $95.8M on this project and other capital improvements. The school funded the project through rental fees from students living in on-campus student housing, according to local reports.
