The 105-acre Park Place, a mixed-use campus in the Irvine Business Complex, is expanding with the construction of a new AC Hotel by Marriott.

The development will have a six-story, 175-key hotel designed by HKS.

It will mark the third American location for the AC Hotel brand, according to Urbanize LA. The other two are in Miami and New Orleans.

Dallas-based Woodbine Development is the developer of the Michelson Drive project. The hotel is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Another is planned for completion in Boston next year.

Construction on Vireo, a two-building multifamily residential complex being developed by the Sares Regis Group near the hotel is also underway. Designed by TCA Architects, it will have 520 studio, one- and two-bedroom units.

Office towers may be part of future plans for the complex. [ULA]
