The proposed Eastline project in Uptown Oakland could do away with its housing component. Lane Partners and Strategic Urban Development Alliance have proposed a second plan that would have nearly 1.6M SF of office at its project at 2100 Telegraph Ave., the San Francisco Business Times reports. The new Scheme B also calls for 72K SF of retail and 23K SF of community space.
The initial plan, dubbed Scheme A, called for 800K SF of office and 395 residential units in a 39-story tower. The developers also are conducting an environmental review with a scenario of either 1,556 units or 2.8M SF of office, allowing for flexibility to pursue either plan.
Gensler is designing the project at the 3.2-acre site. The developers previously said construction could begin as early as 2018.
