Wegman's Coming to Brooklyn

At Bisnow, we believe two things: 1) never use hyperbole; 2) Wegman's is the greatest, best, most amazing supermarket ever bestowed upon mankind. Until now, you had to travel to Bridgewater, NJ, or upstate NY to enjoy one. Coming in 2017, a 74k SF location will open at Admiral's Row at Brooklyn Navy Yard, according to the New York Times. The site will be 25% smaller than any previous Wegman's but still 20k SF larger than Fairway in Red Hook. Developed by Steiner NYC, the entire development (including industrial space and parking lot) will cost an estimated $140M. [NYT]
