iPic Wants More NYC Spots

Last night, Eastern Consolidated’s Brad Cohen (blue tie) told us now that restaurant/bar/movie theater iPic has leased at the South Street Seaport, he’s helping it look for more 35k SF to 50k SF, two-level spots in all boroughs, Long Island and Westchester. We snapped Brad, Bloom Real Estate Group’s Scott Bloom, Edison Properties’ Jason Miller, Neal Cabot Ohm’s Neal Ohm, NGKF’s Kara Luwisch, Rudder Realty’s Michael Rudder, Seward & Kissel’s Lisa Segal, and NGKF’s Andrew Weisz at YM/WREA’s ping pong tourney at Spin in the Flatiron District. Brad says Manhattan will be the hardest to find space, and new construction is likely. Still, he and his colleagues are looking at existing buildings, even schools with gymnasiums. In other markets, he says, the restaurant and bar are responsible for 60% of iPic's business, drawing in people who aren’t even there to see a movie.
