Tishman Speyer is moving forward with another development, filing permits with the Department of Buildings for an office and industrial space project totaling 1M SF in Long Island City.
The project, at 28-07 Jackson Ave, will include two towers, the taller of which will rise 27 stories. It looks like the usage of the project will be mostly office, with 901k SF designated for commercial space, and about 28k SF earmarked for manufacturing uses, NY Yimby reports.
In 2011, Tishman Speyer developed a 22-story office tower one lot over (shown in the background above), which goes by the name Two Gotham Center. That property was sold to H&R REIT that same year for $416M.
Tishman built Two Gotham Center without counterparts One or Three, but the permits indicate those will be the names of these two planned structures. No word on what Batman thinks of calling a Long Island City project "Gotham Center."
WeWork, which just yesterday suffered something of a black eye with news of staffing cuts, is signed on as the anchor tenant for the complex. The co-working space provider has committed to 283k SF.
Tishman Speyer’s plans regarding how long to hold the properties, or whether they’ll be sold upon delivery, aren’t yet known. [NYY]
