Insurance Firm Endurance Takes 143k SF At 1221 Avenue of the Americas

Endurance, an insurance firm that covers commercial properties, has signed a 10-year lease for 143k SF at 1221 Avenue of the Americas.

It'll cover the 17th, 18th and 19th floors and the firm will begin moving in before the first quarter is up, The Real Deal reports. The firm will take space up the 18th and 19th floors first, and later move into its 17th floor space.

The immediate area's seen an exodus of office tenants, especially media companies. Time Inc and HBO have both recently left offices on the same stretch of Sixth Ave. Major League Baseball breathed some life into the corridor's office leasing in October, when it signed a 400k SF lease at 1271 Avenue of the Americas.

The Rockefeller Group, which owns controlling stakes in both 1271 Sixth Ave and 1221 Sixth Ave, repped itself in-house on the deal with Endurance. George Comfort & Sons’ Dana Pike repped Endurance. [TRD]
