Manhattan landlord Fisher Brothers has hired a new head of real estate a month after the death of one of its senior partners.
The company named David Cheikin as its new head of real estate, overseeing the company's commercial and residential portfolio as well as its Ease Hospitality amenity and conferencing brand, it announced Thursday. Cheikin was most recently an executive at Columbia Property Trust after previously leading the New York and Boston regions for Brookfield Properties.

Fisher Brothers is a more-than-century-old, fourth-generation New York City real estate dynasty. It owns more than 7M SF of office space and 1M SF of residential space, it said in its announcement. As of 2021, it was run by four family members: Arnold, Ken, Steven and Winston Fisher.
Arnold Fisher, Ken and Steven's father, died at 89 last year, and Steven Fisher passed away following complications from a medical procedure last month at age 63. Arnold's uncle, Martin Fisher, and his brothers founded the company in 1915.
Cheikin, whose hire was unrelated to Steven Fisher's death, a spokesperson said, will now be tasked with navigating the firm through a dicey moment for commercial real estate, and owners of New York City office space in particular. Fisher Brothers' flagship properties are 299 Park Ave., Park Avenue Place, 1345 Sixth Ave. and 605 Third Ave.
