1100 Sixth Ave. will not be vacant for very long after HBO leaves it for Hudson Yards.

Bank of America has agreed to lease the entirety of the 386K SF building as it expands its presence beyond its headquarters across the street at One Bryant Park, the New York Post reports. HBO occupies the entirety of the building, and will continue to do so until it joins parent company Time Warner at Related Cos.' 30 Hudson Yards when it delivers in 2019.

Brookfield Properties and The Swig Co. signed a net lease at 1100 Sixth Ave. in March from Eugene A. Hoffman Management and reportedly plan a major renovation of the building, which was last redone in 1980 and leased to HBO in 1981. It is unknown how BoA's lease factors into the renovation plans, which would likely overlap with the nearby upgrade to the main branch of the New York Public Library.

The family behind Eugene A. Hoffman continues to own the land underneath the building as it has since the 1830s. It had offices in the building that predated the glass structure that now sits at 1100 Sixth before leasing the redeveloped building to HBO for $175M. Terms of Bank of America's new lease have not been disclosed.
